Eocortex and the S.O.IN Electronics srl integrator company have finished the first stage of the project of equipping the Italian Polizia Giudiziaria with personal video surveillance systems. 50 Eocortex-based hardware and software suites are already at the disposal of the Italian law enforcement authorities.
The personal video surveillance systems with the software are being used by the Polizia Giudiziaria, the Italian judicial police force. The necessity to develop the special software not yet present on the European market arose due to the particularities of the country’s terrain – the existing solutions were not capable of working under the conditions of the faltering connection.
– We did not have a ready-made solution, and the request of the Italian government became quite a challenge for us. In the shortest possible time, we managed to upgrade the most recent version of the existing Eocortex software, – says Mr. Alexander Korobkov, the Chief Operations Officer of Eocortex.
The cooperation resulted in creating the comprehensive solution that met all the demands of the guardians of law and order. It consists of a personal video camera (bodycam) with the special software and the auxiliary communication module that are attached to the chest of an officer. When the connection is stable, the camera can transmit video and audio data to a closed server in real time, using a secure 3G/4G connection. In case of an intermittent connection, the data from the camera reach the station with delay, but with no loss of quality or fragments of video. Eocortex ensures data transmission by using the acknowledging protocol, saving traffic costs and reducing data exchange time when sending large files. Using this software, the Polizia Giudiziaria and the criminal investigators can work with the video archives, find the required objects in the recordings, make bookmarks, and much more.

Eocortex is the software designed for creating intelligent IP video surveillance systems with video stream analysis, e.g. for searching for a particular object or a person, automatic counting of people in queues, crowd detection, etc. The software is already used by the Ieper police department in Belgium, as well as such brands as Hugo Boss, Mövenpick, Hilton, Lukoil and many others in more than 50 countries worldwide.
