Installation of Eocortex for Linux

Eocortex server for Linux allows to:
 
  • Use a wide range of the supported IP camera models that are available in the Windows version
  • Scale up the existing systems by unifying the Linux and Windows-based servers within the same system
  • Make a connection with the help of the familiar applications for configuring and using the Eocortex server: Eocortex Configurator, Eocortex Client, mobile application. Each of them can be used for connection to both Windows and Linux servers. You can find additional information in the Specification.
 

The online installation of Eocortex Linux server on the operation systems

  • To begin, execute the following commands:
  • sudo wget -O - http://packages.eocortex.com/deb/eocortex.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
  • sudo wget -P /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ http://packages.eocortex.com/deb/eocortex.list
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install eocortex
  • In the course of the installation, it is required to enter the password “firebird” for user SYSDBA
  • To begin, execute the following commands:
  • sudo rpm -Uvh https://packages.microsoft.com/config/rhel/7/packages-microsoft-prod.rpm
  • sudo yum install -y epel-release
  • sudo curl -o /etc/yum.repos.d/eocortex.repo http://packages.eocortex.com/rpm/eocortex.repo
  • sudo yum install eocortex
  • In the course of the installation, it is required to enter the password “firebird” for user SYSDBA.
 
 
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install eocortex
  • sudo apt-get remove eocortex
  • To add a new drive to the system manually, perform the following actions:
Connect drive
Format drive
Create a partition on drive
  • Then, during launching, Eocortex will automatically mount the drive as described above.
  • In this article you can find the instructions on working with gnome-disk: gnome-disk
  • When adding a drive with the already existing partition to the system, no additional actions need to be performed.
  • ATTENTION: Eocortex only works with the drives that already contain partitions. The correct operation is not guaranteed on the drives with a file system but without partitions. To use such a drive, perform the steps for adding a new drive to the system, as described above. In this case, all the data on the drive will be lost.
  • To stop the Eocortex server, execute the following command:
  • systemctl stop eocortex.service
  • To start the Eocortex server, execute the following command:
  • systemctl start eocortex.service
  • To restart the Eocortex server, execute the following command:
  • systemctl restart eocortex.service
  • To check the status of the Eocortex server (active/inactive), execute the following command:
  • systemctl status eocortex.service
