Managing a large video surveillance system often means dealing with hundreds or thousands of cameras. With Eocortex 4.6, several routine tasks become faster and easier.
One example is camera management. In a system with 1,000 cameras, moving 150 cameras previously required more than 1,000 actions. Now, the same task can be completed in just three clicks. The camera tree also uses 25% less memory and displays elements up to x6 faster.
The update also expands remote monitoring capabilities. Administrators can check server and camera status from a mobile device or view up to 64 cameras, compared with 16 in the previous version. PTZ controls are available directly for Multiview and auto-switching, and H.265/HLS support improves video playback while optimizing server load.
Several infrastructure improvements are included as well. PostgreSQL is upgraded to version 16, and the client updates automatically when connecting to a Linux server. The Linux client 4.6 operates smoothly due to more efficient GPU utilization for rendering both video and the application interface.
Besides, our team developed Analytics capabilities. The most popular module, License Plate Recognition, now supports Chinese license plates and delivers improved recognition of trailers and performance in challenging lighting and weather conditions. Smoke and Fire Detection now allows configuring detection zones, and its accuracy in forested and mountainous areas has been improved. Our new Phone Usage Detection module is in a beta version and is available for testing.
