Eocortex 3.4 released

Hello, dear partners and customers! We are happy to introduce the new version 3.4 of the Eocortex software. A lot of the enhancements in this version have been implemented according to your requests. We focused on the convenience of setting up and using the software and on the improvement of several video analysis modules. We welcome your feedback and comments.

IMPROVED USABILITY

Additional grids

The real-time view screen for medium to large-scale video systems can now be configured in a more flexible way. At the users’ request, we have added new formats for arranging images from cameras.

Archive on alarm monitor

Find out the cause of an alarm with this new Eocortex feature. It will help you to see not only the moment of the event to which the system reacted, but also the occurrences that preceded it. The image on the alarm monitor opens with a rewind for a few seconds. The required interval can be specified in the module settings.
To use this feature, it is required to activate it for the required camera or a group of cameras in the Alarm Monitor Settings section.

Controlling client connections

You can control the number of Eocortex system users connected under the same login and password. This will optimize internet traffic, reduce system load and let you know exactly how many clients are using the same authorization data.
The system administrator will be able to specify the allowed number of connections under the same account from 1 to 1000, as well as the limit for the number of connections for each user. Client application connections are tracked using their unique identification numbers.
The limitation of client connections can be also configured for Eocortex Enterprise and Eocortex ULTRA users via Active Directory.
By default, this feature is disabled. To use it, it is required to edit the group rights in the Eocortex Settings.

UPDATED VIDEO ANALYTICS

Searching for objects in video archive

The search for objects is a reasonable sequel to the interactive search module. Its range of features has become much wider: now, in addition to finding objects by their characteristics, the users will also be able to pre-classify them according to the following types:

  • persons;
  • vehicles (passenger cars and trucks, buses, two-wheelers);
  • other objects to search for (weapons, bags, suitcases, animals).

You will be able to investigate incidents, find forgotten things, resolve disputes with a quick and accurate search for information in the Eocortex video archive.

Recognition of masked faces

The Face Recognition Complete module now identifies faces covered with medical masks more accurately. We optimized the module’s operation and added the ability to set various scenarios for the system's actions upon detecting people with or without a mask, such as a notification, a mark in the event log, etc. By default, this option is disabled, but it can be activated in the module’s settings.

Recognition of faces turned away from the camera

Recognition of faces turned away from the camera is yet another new feature that became available after the optimization of the Face Recognition Complete module. Activate it in the module’s settings to identify people whose faces appear sideways in the field of view of the cameras.
Note that the accuracy of recognizing fully and clearly seen faces remains higher than the accuracy of recognizing faces turned away from a CCTV camera.

FEATURES FOR SYSADMINS

Electronic signature for video and screenshots

In accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the videos and screenshots exported from Eocortex are certified with an electronic (digital) signature. The digital signature is implemented using X509 certificates with an asymmetric encryption algorithm RSA. The Eocortex Player software will help you to verify the authenticity of the video: the system will inform you about a successful verification, file modification or an untrusted certificate.

Distribution of server load when connecting from mobile devices

The ability to distribute the video transcoding load for mobile clients to all servers in the system has been implemented. This will reduce the load on the servers when connecting from mobile devices.
The users will also have access to the previous operation mode, in which the processing of video streams for mobile clients from all cameras in the system occurs on the same server.

Two IP addresses of one Eocortex server

An additional option has been implemented to connect to the Eocortex server using a public IP address that will be visible on the Internet. This feature will be useful in cases when the connection with the server at the local address has been interrupted or is impossible. In particular, this novelty will greatly simplify the configuration of medium, large and/or distributed systems where servers are located in different local networks.

ONVIF Profile T

The ability to receive a H.265 video stream via the ONVIF Profile T protocol has been added.
