Motion Detector is a feature of a video camera or a video surveillance system that generates an alarm signal when motion is detected in the camera’s field of view.
Depending on its design, a motion detector may have different capabilities as regards its settings and signal generation. In particular, it may be the limitation of the dimensions of the objects to be detected, setting the zones of the frame where motion is to be registered, locating moving objects in the frame with their subsequent highlighting on screen.
