Tiraspol is internationally recognised as the second largest city in Moldova but is effectively the capital and administrative centre of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria). The city is located on the eastern bank of the Dniester River. The current video surveillance system at Agroprombank offices in Tiraspol consists of 370 IP cameras, 150 web cameras, and Eocortex professional IP camera software. The system is based on 10 servers and units 90 bank offices and 150 ATMs.
Sergey Lupasco, Deputy Chairman of the "Agroprombank" JSC Board comments on the video surveillance system:
"Thanks to our positive experience with Eocortex-based system installation at our bank offices, we decided to extend the system by including ATMs video surveillance as well. Obviously, there was no sense in the new IP cameras installed into ATMs. So we asked Eocortex developers to integrate ATM's web cameras into our system solution. Eocortex agreed. Fortunately, software architecture is very effective so the integration was not such a complicated task for them. As a result, we were offered an additional Intellectual module Eocortex Web2IpCam, that needs to be installed on the ATMs. Aside from video recording, this module allows the image to be overlayed by text notifications about particular events (card insertion, notes inserted, the amount of payment entered, etc.).
As a result, now we have distributed video surveillance system with more than 100 servers and single monitoring center. What is crucial is that configuration of the entire system comes from a single point, and all the settings are automatically replicated to the remote server. In addition, if at the time of system configuring some ATMs are «offline» or disabled, once you restore the connection, they will automatically receive the updated setting. Thus, the video surveillance system fully demonstrates its versatility and flexibility, and allows to effectively meet all our objectives".
In the near future, the system expansion is planned.
